  1. Saw your advert in country living and looked you up. Wow! I’ve just started machine embroidery and found your blog truly inspiring. Can I ask if you use the same thread top and bottom and also any tips on using metallic threads or threads that are a bit thicker than average. Thank you for sharing your amazing work.

    • Morning Anna, thanks so much for your lovely comments. I’m pleased you found my ad as its been put in the wrong section of the classified ads which I am disappointed about.
Really pleased you found the blogs helpful though.
In the early days I did change the bobbin thread to be the same or similar to the top thread. However I have since discovered Janome Bobbin thread. I use both the black and white thread and it’s terrific. I have not really used metallic thread on my birds but know that it can be quite temperamental and some machines cope with it better than others. The Oliver Twist threads I use are slightly thicker and my Bernina copes well with them (though it does not like it as bobbin thread). Many of the threads I now use are more expensive so it’s helpful not to be using it in the bobbin. Really good luck with your machine embroidery and let me know how you are getting on. Angela X
